someone's daughter
she sat beside me
giggling and laughing
spilling her joy into my space
just like her papers and belongings
littering my side of the desk
i didn't mind
because she spread her fragrance
into my zone
moving intermittently
errupting into my order and restraint
dancing between my reserve and aplomb
coloring my summer with pauses and smiles
reflections of delight
and the urge to dance along her side
